When and where was your organization founded?
Omega Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated was founded at the University at Albany, State University of New York on March 15, 1989. Please see our Herstory Page for more information.

How long is your membership education process
The length of our membership education process varies with each pledge class.

Does your organization haze?
No. We do not degrade or physically abuse our membership candidates. We give each candidate the same respect that we as strong women demand.

Our organization is very committed to a positive and productive membership education experience and we are committed to the guidelines specified in our Anti-Hazing Policies.

Our National membership education committee which is composed of a Director and membership education supervisors, enforce our Anti-Hazing policies and monitor the progress and well being of each membership candidate class.

Do you have a brother fraternity?
No. One of the many reasons our organization was founded was to fight against the injustices suffered by our gender. As a sorority we function independently and this is something we are very proud of.

In our efforts to “Servir y Educar A Través de Nuestra Diversidad” – we recognize the importance of working and interacting with many organizations. Although we do not have a brother fraternity – we do have strong relationships and have co-sponsored many events and community services with many greek lettered organizations.
